A Case Study: The Enchanted Forest at Pasadena Showcase
A perfect example of personal storytelling in art is our room at the Pasadena Showcase House of Design 2026.
For this project, we transformed an ordinary upstairs hall closet into an immersive environment we call “The Enchanted Nook”—a magical forest where visitors can step inside and feel transported into a storybook world.

The walls became a hand-painted woodland landscape filled with twisting trees, soft light, hidden details, and scenes inspired by beloved fairy tales.
But the inspiration for the room wasn’t just aesthetic. It was deeply personal.
Growing up, our father loved reading stories to us. Fairy tales filled our childhood with imagination, adventure, and beautiful illustrations that sparked our love of art. At the same time, we spent hours playing outside in the woods—exploring, inventing stories, and letting our imaginations run wild.

The enchanted forest mural was a reflection of those memories.
When we step into that room, it brings us back to that childlike feeling of discovery, the sense that anything might be waiting just beyond the trees. It’s playful. It’s imaginative. And for us, it’s personal. That emotional connection is what gives the space its magic.
